Liberty Park Family-Get-Together
Earlier this month we got together with my side of the family at Liberty Park for a nice BBQ! It was such a beautiful day out! It was good to see baby Elizabeth. I hadn't seen her since her baby blessing in March, so she had changed a lot. I got to take some fun pictures of everyone.
Pizza and Divergent
Derek and I stepped out for a little date night a couple weeks ago (i think this is #5 since becoming parents. Yup, still keeping track lol). We went to California Pizza Kitchen which was just okay, then went and watched Divergent, which was awesome! I didn't even want to see that movie but I loved it. We really need to get out more. But our schedules make it tough.
For the record, I will not be having this pizza again
And of course, Derek with his signature dish

The Adventures of Noah Michael
We've been spending a lot of time outside lately. It has been one gorgeous Spring, that's for sure. Too bad it couldn't stay this way all year long. In the mornings, after breakfast is cleaned up and and we're ready for the day, we get kind of bored. So we usually go to the park, go for a walk, or just play in the backyard. Here are some pictures from the past couple weeks..
It doesn't look like it but he is just LOVING the swing lately. I ask him if he wants to get out and he shakes his head no. Eventually I have to just get him out because it's time to go home. Which is weird because before he never really liked the swings all that much.
Another favorite. He loves playing in the sandbox.
I can't wait to take him to a beach this Summer
Chasing me with a stick.
Feeling out his new teeth. He has three on top now and another top one coming in.
Out in the backyard
One of my most prized possessions.. Noah's hands :)
Cutieeee!
His new thing is flowers. He likes to pick them, pull them, destroy them, smell them and eat them. He somehow learned that you smell them and actually sniffs his nose, then he puts it towards your face and will get upset if you don't smell it too.
Does it taste good?
Running Update
I am back at it and loving it so much! It was always hard to go out for a run being a mom without a jogging stroller (not getting one was the dumbest decision ever) but with my mom's new schedule and Jared living with us I've been able to go a lot lately. I started running again a few months ago but the last few weeks I've been strictly going 3 times a week. At first it was super hard and I could only run a mile or so. But my endurance is quickly getting back up there.
I would absolutely love to run a half marathon. I don't want to jinx myself but I'm scared that I am going to get hurt again. Last time I trained for a half marathon, I got up to 10 miles a few weeks before my race and I had to stop because I injured my calves. I don't know if it's because I kept pushing myself too hard, and then would run even though I felt pain (dumb, I know).. or because I didn't intake enough protein or calcium or what. But I'm determined, and I know one day soon I will do a half!
I have been feeling really great though as I run lately. No major pains. So hopefully it just continues to go this way. People tell me I have fibromyalgia, whether I do or not it doesn't really matter. I believe that my diet has a lot to do with some of the pains I get. And maybe that's why running has been much better this time around.
Jessie let me borrow her double jogger so that on days I don't have a babysitter I can bring Noah and Sophia along with me. But it needs new tires, so I need to get on that and we'll be set!
I'm super excited to run another 5K with Jess this month. Haven't ran a race since the Fall :)

Needed a change..
I get so incredibly bored with my hair. I really don't like anything about my hair so maybe that's why! I thought I'd get some bangs to change things up. Also to cover some weird baby hairs that started growing in the front after I had Noah. I'm assuming I lost some hair during pregnancy and didn't notice, then they all started growing back. It's been a year and they are still looking really awkward. So my bangs will cover them up.
I went to a new salon, it was pretty good. And my hair-cut came with a neck and scalp massage. I think I scared the hair dresser when she asked me what kind of shampoo do I use and I told her I don't use shampoo... hahah. She never heard of no poo so I explained that I use baking soda and apple cider vinegar. She really did not understand what I was saying though, I could tell by the kind of questions she asked as I was explaining. Kind of funny.
I did let her use shampoo on my hair though because she used oils for the massage. So after 2 months of no shampoo, I broke the streak. It's okay, I don't think my hair will be too stripped from one time. I'll still continue on with my baking soda remedies :)
I like the bangs. Will I still like them in a month? Maybe not, but right now it's what I needed.

Here's another picture. We went to the zoo the next day. Love having the zoo pass!
